Getting to the Bar Harbor Hostel

The two main airports that service our area are The Bangor International Airport (USAir, Delta, American, etc.) and The Bar Harbor Airport (USAir). The Bar Harbor-Bangor Shuttle Bus makes several trips daily between Bar Harbor and the Bangor International Airport. Call 207 479-5911 for their schedules.

By Bus
Both Greyhound and Concord Trailways run several buses daily to Bangor from Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine. There is only one bus a day (in season) on Greyhound/Vermont Transit, which continues on to Bar Harbor. The Bar Harbor-Bangor Shuttle (207-479-5911) also picks up several times a day at both depots in Bangor. The Bar Harbor Bangor Shuttle (207) 479-5911 runs year round and picks up at both bus stations.

By Ferry
The CAT Ferry travels between Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Bar Harbor several times a week in the summer. It’s just a 30-minute walk from the Ferry terminal to the Hostel, or a short taxi ride.
