The Bar Harbor Hostel was renovated from a home built circa 1900. It is located on Mount Desert Island, one mile from Acadia National Park. Located in downtown Bar Harbor, the Hostel is a 10-minute walk from the ocean, a short ride from the CAT Ferry, and just a few blocks from the Bar Harbor-Bangor Shuttle and Greyhound Bus stops.

We enjoy close proximity to forests, mountains, lakes and the ocean. Easily accessible to the Hostel are hiking, biking, canoeing, ocean kayaking, sailing, swimming, and whale-watching. Acadia National Park can be reached on foot, by bike or on the free Island Explorer Bus, which operates from June to October. Bike rentals and kayak tours are available in Bar Harbor.
